Apply for Internship at Capitol & Growth in CT Youth Employment Program

September 6, 2024

Investing in Connecticut’s future starts with empowering our youth! That's why I want to highlight two youth empowering programs that can get any student or recent graduate on their way towards a career.

The first of these is the CGA Internship Program. As an alumnus myself, I cannot speak more highly of the great experience that is the CGA Legislative Internship Program! The application is now open until November 1st.

The second initiative I want to highlight is the CT Youth Employment program, and I am happy to report that it continues to grow.

This program helps teens explore careers, work side-by-side with professionals who help them build career networks, and receive job training and experience, all while earning a paycheck. Let’s support the next generation of leaders and innovators!

Available year-round for ages 14-24.

Expect Delays on Grove Street

The repaving project for Grove Street (or Route 31) began on Wednesday (Sept. 4), so everyone should keep in mind that there may be lane closures in the area as well as an increased amount of traffic.

The project is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, through Sept. 19.

Read a Book Day

This is one of my favorite lesser known holidays of the year. As a teacher, I see just how important reading is to each and every student, and as an avid reader myself, I also see how important it is to each and every adult no matter where they are in life.

This Read a Book Day, find a good book to read and take at least twenty minutes to enjoy it!

Crossing Guards Needed
This is important work for our district. Please consider if you care about keeping our students safe.
