Today, I attended a press conference with many of my House democratic colleagues to discuss our plans to provide free school meals to the students of CT. Given how many of us were at this press conference, it is clear how much of a priority feeding our students is not just for me, but for so many of us in the House.
Hungry students aren't given the opportunities to learn. Learning on an empty stomach is not learning at all. As we get closer to the May 8 deadline of session, the final day where we can pass new laws for the 2024 year, our free school meal plan will become more prominent as we try to get it over the finish line.
