The Generation Power CT (GPCT) Emergency Energy Assistance Program, which opened on Jan. 2, has extended its deadline to apply by a day. People now have until Sunday,  Jan. 11, 11:59 p.m. to apply for a one-time grant of up to $500 to help eligible Connecticut households with electric, gas, or fuel expenses. GPCT said it is extending the deadline to provide a little extra time for people to apply or finish their applications for this critical benefit.

First, I want to wish everyone a happy, safe and healthy new year. I'm looking forward to a productive 2026 representing Waterbury at the State Capitol.

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to take this opportunity to thank all of you for allowing me to represent you in the Connecticut General Assembly.

It has been an honor and a gift to be able to do this work on your behalf. As we move forward together into 2026, may the days ahead bring healing, hope, and renewed purpose. I wish you happy holidays — however you celebrate — and a peaceful, healthy start to the year ahead.

I'm pleased to announce that Waterbury Hospital is being acquired by UConn Health.

The following is the most up-to-date information from the Department of Social Services concerning federal SNAP benefits.

Early voting has started, and will end Sunday, Nov. 2. Hours are daily (Sunday through Saturday) from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., except on Tuesday, Oct. 28, and Thursday, Oct. 30, which have extended hours from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
