The Generation Power CT (GPCT) Emergency Energy Assistance Program, which opened on Jan. 2, has extended its deadline to apply by a day. People now have until Sunday,  Jan. 11, 11:59 p.m. to apply for a one-time grant of up to $500 to help eligible Connecticut households with electric, gas, or fuel expenses. GPCT said it is extending the deadline to provide a little extra time for people to apply or finish their applications for this critical benefit.
