Around Town

These past few weeks I’ve been out and about, highlighting some local businesses on social media and having a great time in the process. I’ve found Branford’s small business community to be innovative and very interesting, such as Birch & Twine and Slackline Press. These links bring you to my Instagram. If you prefer Facebook, or TikTok those are my official page links.

I’d love to visit more local businesses, so please reach out to me. I’d love to highlight you!

This weekend was the annual Branford Historical Society holiday gathering at the historic Harrison House Museum. If you have any history lovers among your family or friends, the Society offers a variety of publications and maps for sale, including this 1868 Map of Branford. Visit the Historical Society’s website to explore their commemorative items, including annual memberships. As we approach the nation’s 250th anniversary of our founding, anything history-related will make a wonderful gift!

What an honor it was to celebrate the Branford High School Girls Field Hockey Team on their extraordinary achievement of winning the 2025 CIAC Class M State Championship! Their talent, hard work, and determination are a true testament to their commitment to excellence. Congratulations to all the players, coaches, parents, teachers, and administrators who supported these champions every step of the way.

Community Events

Friday, December 12 is Connecticut Children's Foundation PJ Day for the Kids. This is no ordinary pajama day, the State of Connecticut and House of Representatives passed a bill officially recognizing PJ Day for the Kids as an Official Connecticut Day of Awareness.

We join hundreds of schools, businesses, and individuals across the state to honor patients who must wear their pajamas for days, weeks, or longer while fighting cancer or other serious illnesses.
