Shore Line East Public Hearing

March 1, 2024

I'm aware that many of you have been affected by the reduction in funding for our Shore Line East Rail Line during the last session. The service has been reduced to about 40% of pre-COVID levels, which has significantly affected and disrupted the daily routines of our 102nd district residents who rely on this train line.

As your representative, I am determined to restore the service to this train line. We have been working diligently over the past few weeks to draft a bill that addresses this issue.

The Transportation Committee will hold a public hearing on Monday, March 4th at 10:00 AM on Senate Bill 277: An Act Restoring Services on the Shore Line East Rail Line. This legislation would require the Department of Transportation to restore the Shore Line East service to its pre-COVID levels.

Revitalizing the Shore Line East Rail Line is a personal mission, not just a task. I need your support to make this happen. Together, let's show the legislature how vital this line is for commuters, tourism, and combating climate change by cutting emissions. YOUR voice and story is crucial—let's unite to effect the change we desire.

You can register to testify in person at the Capitol or via Zoom online here, with registration closing on Sunday, March 3rd at 3:00 PM. If you are unable to speak in person, you can submit written testimony using this link.
