State Minimum Wage Increases with New Year
December 12, 2024Effective January 1, 2025, the hourly minimum wage in the state will increase from $15.69 to $16.35.
A 2019 law (PA 19-4) passed by the legislature aligns Connecticut’s minimum wage to a percentage change in an economic indicator called the federal employment cost index. According to the Department of Labor the employment cost index rose 4.2% for the current fiscal year ending June 30, resulting in a 66-cent increase to the state’s minimum wage.

Celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month
September 15, 2024Of course Hispanic Heritage Month celebrates Hispanic culture, but it also honors the positive impact and lasting contributions made by generations of our growing Hispanic population to our country.
National Hispanic Heritage Month began as a week-long celebration in 1968 under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded to a month by President Ronald Reagan 20 years later in 1988. It currently runs from September 15th thru October 15th.
