These past few days, I have had the pleasure and opportunity to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds - from community leaders and activists to teachers and small businesses owners. And there is a quote I will share that best captures my feelings from this past week.

Extreme cold weather is expected in the coming days across the state. It is important to be mindful that with it brings increased risks to ourselves and our communities.

I hope you and your family have been staying warm and healthy. The legislative session is underway, and I have been working to craft legislation that will benefit our community.

As we continue to pursue more long-term solutions to reduce rising costs of energy, I wanted to make you aware of an upcoming outreach event to help residents access critical financial assistance from United Illuminating (UI) and Southern Connecticut Gas (SCG), through the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP), the Community Renewal Team (CRT) and Operation Fuel.

As we prepare to ring in the new year and welcome the start of 2023, a number of laws passed will take effect when the clock strikes midnight on January 1st!

Great news! CareerConneCT is expanding its intake portal. The goal of CareerConneCT is to provide underemployed and unemployed Connecticut residents with resources and training necessary for the pursuit of a well-paying, high-quality career path. The program provides free job training, case management, supportive services, and employment assistance.
