During 2023 Legislative Session, we successfully passed legislation that protects and supports individuals in the state who are in the twilight years of their life. Unfortunately, as the elderly population steadily rises, scam attempts against that community also increases. To help shield our older residents from being victimized, we passed PA 23-161.

HB 5001 One Year Later and Children’s Mental Health Parent Forum on Thursday

As one of the co-authors of HB 5001, which along with SB 1 and SB 2 was one of three historic and sweeping children’s mental health bills passed in 2022 by the Connecticut General Assembly and signed into the law by Gov. Ned Lamont one year ago this week, I want to ensure funding is in the upcoming biennial budget to continue to implement the most important aspects of these groundbreaking bills.

Sandy Hook, 10 Years Later

Like so many of you, I remember exactly where I was 10 years ago today.

I was at the old Charter Oak Elementary School in West Hartford, recruiting and interviewing candidates for the town's inaugural Parent Leadership Training Institute class. I kept receiving phone calls from family living outside of Connecticut, who wanted to know if my kids were okay.
