Happy Holidays from State Rep. Nick Gauthier

December 23, 2025

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

I hope this message finds you well!

I want to take a moment to wish each and every member of our community and all of our loved ones a Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and a happy New Year! I hope the end of this year is spent enjoying peace and joy with friends and family.

As 2025 comes to a close, I want to thank you for allowing me to represent you in the Connecticut General Assembly. It is an honor and a gift to be able to serve and represent my neighbors in the 38th district in Waterford and Montville at our State Capitol.

As we move forward together into 2026, may the days ahead bring healing, hope, and renewed purpose. I wish you happy holidays — however you celebrate — and a peaceful, healthy start to the year ahead!

Community Conversation
It's always rewarding to sit down with residents of the 38th District and talk about issues they're concerned with.

I enjoyed the post-special session Town Hall in Waterford last week and I'm looking forward to speaking with more residents in advance of the new session that starts in February.

Please don't hesitate to reach out!

Medical Debt Erased
In addition to two previous rounds of medical debt elimination that have benefitted 120,000 Connecticut residents, Governor Lamont announced this week that another 40,000 residents are having a collective $63 million of medical debt forgiven and eliminated.

Since 2024, Governor Lamont and the nonprofit Undue Medical Debt have worked to erase nearly $200 million of medical debt for state residents. This initiative sees the state provide investments to Undue Medical Debt, which negotiates with health providers to eliminate large bundles of medical debt. Residents with income at or under 400% the federal poverty level, or with debt more than 5% of their income, are eligible for relief.

Debt relief letters will automatically be sent to those receiving relief through the next weeks.

Montville Citizens Police Academy
The Montville Police Department will host its second annual Citizens Police Academy on Wednesday, January 7 from 6-9 p.m. The 11-week program is meant to build relationships between the public and police officers and provide better understanding of how police operate to keep communities safe. Apply online here or in-person at the Montville Police Department.

Waterford Blood Drive
Schedule ahead – Waterford Town Hall will host a blood drive on January 9 from noon to 5:30 p.m. Donors can enter for a chance to go to the Super Bowl! Call 1-800-Red Cross or visit www.redcrossblood.org and enter WaterfordCT to schedule an appointment.
