Wrong Way Detection Bi-Annual Inspections in the Greater Hartford Area
September 19, 2025The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) will conduct a wrong way detection bi-annual inspection on Monday, September 29 through Thursday, October 2. This work will result in various ramp closures will take place on I-84, I-291 and I-91 in the Greater Hartford area, including West Hartford. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 3:00 a.m.

New Raised Crosswalks in West Hartford

DOT Update for Bloomfield
August 4, 2025CTDOT is developing plans for the 2026 Pavement Preservation project in several towns and cities throughout the state, including Bloomfield. Specifically, the project will be conducted on Route 187 in Bloomfield and Windsor, beginning at the intersection of W Dudley Town Road (Mile Point 4.92) in Bloomfield and ending approximately 0.17 miles north of Route 189 (Tunxis Avenue) (Mile Point 8.04) in Bloomfield.
State Invests in Protecting Open Space
July 28, 2025A recent allocation of state funding will go toward preserving open space and creating local community green areas throughout Connecticut.
This round of grants total $15 million and are designated to help with the purchase and preservation of over 2,270 acres in 22 municipalities. This includes $725,000 specifically for the creation of six new local green spaces.
