Happy (belated) Halloween! I hope you had a safe, spooky, and candy-filled evening with your loved ones. I wanted to update you on what I’ve been up to this week and share what’s been happening in and around our district.

The 2019 legislative session wrapped up in June. Thank you for the honor of allowing me to serve the 18^th Assembly District. We were able to tackle some important issues and accomplish quite a bit during the session. From raising the minimum wage to securing paid family and medical leave, and strengthening our state’s gun control policies, there’s a lot to be proud of.

I was pleased to partner with clinical experts from across the state to educate and urge state lawmakers and education officials on considering a statewide move to later school start times during a forum early Tuesday morning.

I hope you are enjoying this beautiful Fall weather! New laws are set to take effect in Connecticut on October 1^st.

Great news! We were successful in pressuring the state Department of Revenue Services to rescind their overly broad policy regarding taxing meals.

There are several new laws taking effect July 1.

The House passed a budget which is responsible, stable, and funds the Rainy Day Fund at historic levels.
