Connecticut’s ability to thrive is dependent upon the state of our working families, the state of our economy and the state of our communities. We can invest in the success of our families and our businesses by addressing the economic disparities present in our state and creating equitable opportunities for everyone.

I am pleased to announce the launching of Passport to Parks Program, a new initiative that will support services at our local state parks while allowing free access to Connecticut residents and their families.

House and Senate Democrats unveiled our Democratic Values Agenda for the 2018 legislative session.

Connecticut will join with 20 other states and the District of Columbia in asking a federal appeals court to overturn the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) rollback of net neutrality rules.

Despite what you hear from the familiar anti-Connecticut talking points, we are working hard to make sure our state is welcoming and supportive to all businesses, small and large.

In a bipartisan vote the House of Representatives voted 130-3 to restore $54 million in funding to the Medicare Savings Program. Following the House vote, the Senate also voted 32-1 in concurrence with the House to restore funding to this important program.

The Office of Policy and Management has announced that residents enrolled in the state’s Renter’s Rebate program are expected to receive their checks within the next several days.

Educational attainment is one of the most important factors of a thriving society, economy and healthy communities. As a former educator, I am certain we are making a great investment in Connecticut’s future with this latest round of funding.
