Those who are experiencing a mental health crisis no longer need to remember 1-800-273-8255 or wait hours for help. They can now call or text the 988 National Suicide & Crisis Lifeline, formerly known as the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline, to connect with mental health professionals who are trained to respond to these emergencies.

This past session, we extended the eligibility for the PACT free community college program to part-time students and are encouraging as many students as possible to apply before the priority consideration deadline of July 15th.

A number of new laws that my colleagues and I worked on during the 2022 legislative session to implement meaningful change in our state take effect in Connecticut on July 1.
