The East Hartford legislative delegation and I welcome the Community Investment Fund’s approval of $6 million to support the redevelopment of 111 Founders Plaza into a residential apartment building. The State Bond Commission is expected to approve this investment in the near future.
The funding will help transform the former corporate office tower into up to 260 modern residential apartments. The redevelopment will include high-quality amenities such as a community room, fitness center, resident lounge, work-from-home spaces, and other features designed to support a vibrant residential community.
This new apartment complex will attract new residents, supporting local businesses, and helping drive economic growth in the greater Hartford area. By brining more people and activity to the neighborhood, the development will help transform the area into a vibrant destination where people want to live, work, and spend time.

As a co-founder of the Veterans with Disabilities Task Force, I had the distinct honor of hosting a meaningful ceremony at the Capitol in observance of K-9 Veterans Day.
During the ceremony, we proudly recognized the extraordinary service of Sgt. Todd Mona and her loyal K-9 partner, Casus of the East Hartford Police Department. Their years of dedication, courage, and unwavering commitment to our community exemplify the profound bond between service members and their K-9 companions. We are deeply grateful for their contributions and the countless ways they have protected and served, reminding us all of the vital role K-9 veterans play in supporting our nation’s safety and security.
