2019 Legislative Session

January 16, 2019

The 2019 Legislative Session has now officially begun and I, along with all my colleagues, our new governor and constitutional officers were sworn in during the official Opening Day of session last week.

I am honored to share leadership roles as co-chair of the legislature's Transportation Committee with my colleague, Senator Leone. In addition, I will be serving on the Education and Finance, Revenue & Bonding Committees.

The new administration has proposed bold ideas for transportation that we will be looking into, as well as finding solutions for fixing our transportation infrastructure that has suffered with diminishing resources for decades.

During Governor Lamont’s State of the State address, he presented his support for what he labeled as the 30-30-30 plan that seeks to reduce travel time between respective towns from Hartford through New York to 30 minutes each.

Increased access to NY and lower Fairfield County would bring tens of thousands of new jobs to Connecticut, spark economic development up and down the shoreline and yield tremendous revenue for our State.

It is a privilege to work on your behalf in Hartford and, as always, your feedback is important to me. I encourage you to stay up to date with my work by visiting my state website and by liking my official Facebook page.

If you have any questions, ideas or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thank you again for your vote of confidence and your continued support.
