Dear Neighbor,

Connecticut’s housing market is among the most constrained in the nation. Rising rents and limited supply make it harder for families to find affordable homes. The housing bill passed by the House during this week’s Special Session delivers real solutions.

 The new bill:

Empowers communities to plan and build smarter
Cuts red tape to speed up housing development
Supports vulnerable residents and families

The bill empowers towns to plan for responsible, data-driven growth, using insights from state, local, and regional partners to meet the housing needs of today and tomorrow. Developed in partnership with municipal leaders, regional councils, colleagues on both sides of the aisle, and Governor Lamont, this legislation creates a collaborative and practical framework through local Housing Growth Plans.

A responsible, community-driven plan to build a stronger Connecticut
