Opening Day 2019

January 9, 2019

Geoff Luxenberg (D-Manchester) took the oath of office this morning at the state capitol in Hartford. Luxenberg will represent Manchester’s 12th House District.

The House Speaker last week aligned his leadership team and named Rep. Luxenberg to the post of Assistant Majority Leader. He has also been assigned to serve on four key legislative committees: Higher Education & Employment Advancement; Judiciary; Labor & Public Employees; and General Law.

“It is an honor to be chosen by the House Speaker as Assistant Majority Leader,” said Luxenberg. “I look forward to helping usher through important legislation designed to improve the lives of Manchester residents, and everyone across Connecticut.”

“Our General Assembly committees offer a great opportunity to reach across the aisle to achieve bipartisan results,” said Luxenberg, “I’m a work-horse not a show-horse, being on four committees instead of three means more opportunities to help craft good policy to help the people who need it the most.”

Luxenberg is an experienced public servant, proud dad and community volunteer with a record of advocating for Manchester. He is excited to get to work at the state capitol and improve the quality of life for the citizens of Manchester.
