Millions for Manchester Approved by State Bond Commission
June 7, 2024
As part of the Manchester Delegation in the Connecticut General Assembly, I welcome the approval of millions of dollars in funding for the town by the State Bond Commission on Friday.
The funding includes final approval of $3.5 million from the Community Investment Fund 2030 to supplement building a modern and accessible downtown library. As part of the “Downtown for All” project, the library was supported by residents, who overwhelmingly voted in favor of a new facility in a 2022 referendum. Additionally, $125,516 for Odyssey Community School for debt repayment was also approved on Friday.
I appreciate the final approval of the funding by Governor Lamont and the State Bond Commission for our downtown library, which means better educational opportunities and a reduced property tax burden for Manchester families. We were proud to deliver more than $5 million for this project last year, so this additional funding is a landmark victory for the people of Manchester.
