September 30, 2016The Bond Commission approved funding to upgrade sewer lines in Fairfield near the Metro Center and finance equipment for the renovation and improvement project at the Fairfield Regional Fire School.
Bill Signing for Student Data Privacy Law
July 26, 2016Earlier this month Fairfield resident Jenn Jacobsen and I participated in a ceremonial bill signing for a law to protect student privacy by imposing certain restrictions on the use and sharing of student data. PA 16-189, An Act Concerning Student Data Privacy, will go into effect on October 1.
New Website for School Information
July 11, 2016The Department of Education recently announced the launch of EdSight, a new website for public school information. This interactive portal makes data about school districts accessible to the public.

New Tool to Track Business Growth
April 20, 2016Secretary of the State Denise Merrill recently announced a new tool to track business formation in Connecticut. Her office has worked with the Connecticut Data Collaborative to launch a site, Ctbusiness.ctdata.org, which pinpoints where business activity is happening in the state and makes this data accessible to the public.
