Important New Date of Dec. 7th for Crumbling Foundations

If you have a crumbling concrete foundation and have not yet applied for relief from the Connecticut Foundation Solutions Indemnity, Inc. (CFSIC) - December 7th you will get a new chance to get in line for possible future relief. CFSIC announced that beginning Monday, December 7, they will restart accepting applications in the pending class of claimant.

There will be an electronic application process enabled on the morning of December 7, and the PDF version of the application will be available to print and fill out by hand.
What to Know

CFSIC has already committed almost all of its existing projected eventual funding through June 30, 2030 to existing Severity Class 3 and 2 Active and Inactive claimants. There currently is no more funding anticipated beyond what has been projected in the CFSIC budget. All Active Class 3 and 2 claimants will be placed ahead of any pending claimant for funding.

If you apply on December 7 or subsequent to that date, you will be registering your claim for possible future assistance, but only if additional funds are forthcoming.

The Current Status of CFSIC Applications:
  • There are currently 437 pending claimants already in line before doors open on December 7, 2020 for more.
  • Severity Class code 3 pending claimants, whether they are in the current 437 or come in on or after December 7, will be placed in line before any Pending Severity Class code 2 or 1. (CFSIC will not be accepting any additional Type 2 Pending applications for reimbursement claims)
  • CFSIC anticipates it will get to all first tier of pending claimants by 2026 or 2027, based on what funding is expected to be received.
  • Approximately 325 to 350 pending claimants will be addressed from the existing 437 currently in the system.
  • If you apply on December 7 or after that date, you may never have your foundation remediated based on the existing projection of revenues, and lack of anticipated future sources of revenue.
