High Extended Benefits Expected to End

The CT Department of Labor expects to be notified shortly by the U.S. Department of Labor that the High Extended Benefits (HEB) period has ended. The agency expects some customers will begin to see this loss of benefits as soon as the week ending December 12, 2020.

To be proactive about the loss of benefits, CT DOL will notify claimants who will begin to lose those benefits over the next few weeks. If you are collecting HEB, and you are concerned about what this will look like for you, I encourage you to reach out to the DOL's Consumer Contact Center at the numbers below:

In the meantime, Connecticut's American Job Centers may be able to offer you assistance as you seek employment during the pandemic. The Centers can offer resources for your job search and training, help you with beneficial resume writing, and aid you in navigating other job-specific needs.

While Connecticut’s American Job Centers remain closed to walk-in traffic due to COVID-19, some affiliate American Job Centers and all of the comprehensive American Job Centers in Bridgeport, Hamden, Hartford, Montville, New Haven, and Waterbury are providing virtual assistance to job seekers and employers by appointment.
