There has been controversy regarding a complaint by a female detective in the New London Police Department. The complaint is against two senior male officers.

I want to publicly commend Detective Melissa Schafranski-Broadbent for reaching out to my legislative office. I know from experience that it takes a lot of courage to speak up against some of those who are supposed to protect and serve. Let this be an example to everyone on the importance of policing the police, not only outside the building but in the community of those they have sworn to protect and serve.
