CT Honors the Coast Guard

The U.S. Coast Guard plays a vital role in our maritime security and safety. On Thursday, Feb. 10, we unveiled an exhibit in the State Capitol to honor and highlight the rich history of the Coast Guard with an emphasis on Connecticut based Coast Guard units. 

Located in the concourse between the Legislative Office Building and the Capitol Building, this exhibit showcases educational panels, which coincide with various galleries in the future National Coast Guard Museum, and a collection of artifacts. 

I was honored when presented with two Flags from the United States Coast Guard. The first was the National Ensign flown on US Coast Guard Eagle. The second flag was The Academy Corps of Cadets Flag signed by the Cadets.
