Protecting Bridgeport’s State Aid

March 22, 2016

Rep. Steve Stafstrom recently joined with other big-city legislators and mayors to underscore the need for the General Assembly to continue committed state aid to Bridgeport and other big cities that is critical to their budgets.

“Strong and vibrant central cities are critical to Connecticut’s economic competitiveness and growth in the 21st Century economy,” Rep. Stafstrom said. “As we work to balance our State’s budget we must make sure we do not do so on the backs of our property taxpayers.”

The legislators and mayors pointed out the importance of their cities as regional centers and they were working together to retain their funding.
