DANBURY STATE REPRESENTATIVES ACHIEVE PERFECT SCORE FROM CT LEAGUE OF CONSERVATION VOTERS

State Representatives Bob Godfrey (110th District), Ken Gucker (138th), David Arconti (109th) and Raghib Allie-Brennan (2nd) each received a perfect score of 100 on the Connecticut League of Conservation Voters' 2022 Environmental Scorecard.

The scorecard aims to hold lawmakers accountable for their positions on issues related to the environment and puts a focus on priorities for the next session.

The CTLCV works with environmental organizations across the state to identify and track important bills in producing the Scorecard and works with advocates and legislative champions to move the issues through the legislature. The following bills were tracked by the organization:

  • SB 4 - An Act Concerning the Connecticut Clean Air Act
  • SB 10 - An Act Concerning Climate Change Mitigation
  • SB 117 - An Act Concerning Tree Removal on Properties Under the Control of The Department of Energy and Environmental Protection
  • SB 118 -An Act Concerning the Use of Certain Polystyrene Products
  • SB 120 - An Act Concerning the Use of Chlorpyrifos on Golf Courses
  • SB 176- An Act Concerning Clean Energy Tariff Programs
  • SB 214 - An Act Concerning the Sale of Electric Vehicles in The State
  • SB 236 - An Act Concerning the Use of Back-Up Diesel Generators for Purposes of Peak Shaving
  • SB 239 - An Act Prohibiting the Use of Certain Rodenticides for the Protection of Hawks, Raptors and Other Wildlife

"With the effects of climate change in the headlines - from heat to wildfires to droughts to hurricanes around the world - I continue to think globally and act locally. So does CTLCV. I'm proud to have their support and will continue to push for meaningful legislation in future," said Rep. Godfrey.

“It is always exciting to be recognized by a prestigious organization like the CTLCV, an organization committed to holding lawmakers accountable for supporting environmentally friendly legislation”, said Rep. Arconti. “I am proud that our entire delegation is equally committed to helping ensure a healthy environment for generations to come.”

"During my time in the legislature, I have made it my priority to maintain the natural landmarks in our community, such as the lakes in the parks, and it is wonderful that my colleagues from Danbury are similarly committed. I will continue to fight for legislation that will protect these resources for future generations," said Rep. Gucker.

“Climate change and the increasingly frequent extreme weather events it brings have environmental and economic implications. The climate-focused legislation we passed this session builds upon our previous work to protect our environment, improve the air we breathe, and create more sustainable economic opportunities. Thank you to CTLCV for recognizing our efforts to achieve a greener future for all,” said Rep. Allie-Brennan.
