Let's Talk About It: Help for the Homeless

As temperatures drop this winter, it's important to think about those who are most vulnerable. On my weekly public affairs radio show, "Let's Talk About It," we discussed new investment going into the Willimantic No Freeze Project.

The executive director of the shelter joined me to share more information about its new location. The Willimantic No Freeze Project received funding from a private foundation to secure a permanent home. Those staying at the shelter will receive more protection from the flu and COVID-19.

50 YEAR ANNIVERSARY
Sunday marked 50 years since the landmark decision from the U.S. Supreme Court ruling that women were granted the right to make their own reproductive and healthcare decisions. I believe those rights are under attack in the wake of last year's reversal. We are fortunate to live in a state that supports those reproductive rights. I will continue to advocate to give everyone the freedom to control their own bodies.
