Dear Neighbor,

I am pleased to announce that Oakridge Farm in Ellington has been selected as one of 21 farms across the state to receive the Farmland Restoration Program (FLRP) grant. Oakridge Farm was awarded this grant to fund the dredging of drainage ditches, a key process in maintaining high soil quality and increasing yields for livestock feed crops.

So far, more than $290,000 in grant funding has been awarded to 21 farms across the state to be put towards projects aimed at restoring soil health and preserving agricultural production. Projects like Oakwood Farm's are crucial for the maintenance of our state's agricultural resilience and will go a long way in ensuring that our farmers receive the support that they need to maintain productive and resilient farmland.

To request a letter of support if you are looking to apply to a Department of Agriculture grant, or if you have any additional questions, please feel free to contact me at Jaime.Foster@cga.ct.gov.

Sincerely,

Jaime Foster

State Representative
