Transgender Day of Visibility

Transgender Day of Visibility

Today is a complicated day. There are many who don't feel safe being "visible" given the recent wave of anti-LGBTQ bills and legislation predominantly targeting transgender people.

While we must highlight the many systemic barriers trans people face, today is also a day to CELEBRATE the trans and gender non-conforming community today! Trans joy is most necessary when it feels the most impossible.

I encourage you dedicate some time today to #TransJoy: https://bit.ly/3TVGK7q

With trans people and their rights under attack, there has never been a more important time to step up as an ally. Here are some tips to remember and action to take. #TransDayOfVisibility🏳️‍⚧️

In a world full of disinformation, let's focus on the FACTS. 🏳️‍⚧️

Gender affirming care is always delivered in age-appropriate, evidence-based ways, and decisions to provide care are made in consultation with doctors and parents. Collectively representing more than 1.3 million doctors across the United States, every major medical and mental health organization — including the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Pediatrics, and the American Psychological Association — recognizes that it is medically necessary to support people in affirming their gender identity.

I SEE YOU. 🏳️‍⚧️
I SUPPORT YOU. 🏳️‍⚧️
I AM FIGHTING FOR YOU. 🏳️‍
