Rep. Comey Receives Children's Champion Award

June 1, 2023

Today, Representative Robin Comey (D- Branford) was presented with the Children's Champion Award by the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance. This award recognizes individuals that have made significant contributions to improving the lives of young children in Connecticut.

"Representative Comey has long worked on early childhood issues and this year we recognize her for her work to allow child care centers to stock and administer epinephrine. That way if a child has their first allergic reaction at child care, the program can administer potentially life-saving care before an ambulance can arrive," said Merrill Gay, Executive Director of the Connecticut Early Childhood Alliance.

"It’s a special opportunity for me to be able to combine my love and enthusiasm for children’s health and early childhood education policy and I’m grateful for this recognition. Investing in our youngest learners is critical to their success in school and beyond," said Rep. Comey. "As a strong advocate for early childhood programs for all families in Connecticut, I remain committed to continuing my work in supporting these efforts."

Representative Comey was one of 25 elected officials to earn this distinction. She has been actively involved in promoting early childhood education and development throughout her career.
