$1.356M in State Bonding Coming to Milford!

October 6, 2023

I am proud to announce that Milford is receiving $1.356 million in state bonding to support a pair of flood resiliency projects.

$1.216M will go toward immediate construction elevating Milford Point Road along the tidal marsh and upgrading the drainage in the area. The funding will also bring a brand new pedestrian walkway along the scenic area overlooking Charles Wheeler Tidal Marsh where none currently exists.

Another $140,000 will be invested into portable pumps and pump connections to complete a partially funded flood mitigation project at Bayview Beach.

This secured funding will ensure that our community will be better prepared for storms and rising sea levels along the shore.

I am proud of all my colleagues, including House Chair of the Bonding Committee Rep. Ron Napoli Jr. and Deputy Director of Policy Zoë Gluck, for their tireless work to bring these valuable funds to our community. I would also like to recognize the Deputy Director of Milford Public Works Steve Johnson for all his research and contributions to these projects. Finally, thank you Governor Ned Lamont and the State Bonding Commission for investing in these worthy projects in Milford.
