I am deeply grateful to serve as your state representative for another term. I look forward to receiving your feedback, bringing your concerns to the Capitol, and continuing to advocate for our community.

West Hartford will receive $2 million for affordable housing development. I'll break down why this funding is so important for our community especially for middle class families and young professionals.

November is Puerto Rican Heritage Month, and our community is proud to honor our heritage! Please read below to learn why it's important to celebrate with our Boricua neighbors.

The country will be honoring Marines and all veterans in the coming days. Please keep scrolling to learn how you can pay tribute to those who have served our country.

$2 Million for Affordable Housing in West Hartford
The State Bond Commission approved $2 million in grants for West Hartford to support affordable housing development in the transit-oriented development zone. This funding addresses a need to help middle class families, retirees, and younger professionals.

Providing affordable housing with easy access to the greater Hartford area on public transportation, such as CTFastrak, is vital for creating inclusive communities where everyone can thrive. It enables families to benefit from job opportunities, quality education, and essential services while having an affordable place to live. By investing in accessible housing, we build a stronger, more equitable future for everyone.

Thank you to Governor Ned Lamont and his administration for supporting this project.

Celebrating Puerto Rican Heritage Month
November is Puerto Rican Heritage Month, a time to celebrate and honor the rich cultural contributions, history, and traditions of Puerto Ricans in the state and across the United States. This observance provides an opportunity to reflect on the achievements and ongoing impact of the Puerto Rican community, both locally and nationally.

Hartford and West Hartford have significant Puerto Rican populations, with many families having deep roots across the state. Over the decades, Puerto Ricans have become an integral part of Connecticut’s diverse fabric, contributing to the state’s economy, culture, and identity. From the arts and music to education, politics, and business, Puerto Ricans have played an essential role in shaping the state’s development and continuing growth.

As we celebrate Puerto Rican Heritage Month, we pay tribute to the past, honor the present, and look toward a future where Puerto Rican culture continues to thrive for generations to come.

Marine Corps Birthday
The Marine Corps birthday, celebrated each year on November 10, is a time for Marines to reflect on the honor, courage, and commitment that defined our service. This tradition unites Marines across generations, reminding us of the legacy we uphold, and the sacrifices made by those who came before.
As a former Marine, November 10 allows me and many other Marines to honor our enduring loyalty to the Corps and to each other. Let’s remember to celebrate and honor those who served our amazing country.

Veterans Day

Many communities will honor our heroes over Veterans Day Weekend. It’s a day to thank and recognize the millions of men and women who have served in the U.S. military.

You are invited to pay tribute at a Veterans Day Ceremony on Monday, November 11 at 11 A.M. at the Connecticut Veterans Memorial West Hartford. U.S. Marine Corps. veteran LaToya Fernandez, a lance corporal from 2005-09, and current West Hartford Board of Education member, will be the guest speaker.

Great Turnout for Trunk or Treat!
We had a fantastic turnout for our Halloween trunk or treat event at Colt Park in Hartford! The atmosphere was vibrant and festive, with families and kids in creative costumes filling the parking lot. Many participants decorated their cars with spooky themes and handed out a variety of treats, from classic candies to fun snacks. There were so many trick-or-treaters that organizers had to get more candy for the event!
It was heartwarming to see the community come together, sharing laughter and enjoying the evening. The event truly captured the spirit of Halloween, and we’re so grateful for everyone who participated and made it a memorable experience! Thank you to the Colt Park Foundation and all of our sponsors for putting on such a great event.
