Friends and Neighbors,

I hope this correspondence finds you well.

In this week's newsletter, I touch on early voting. It begins next month for the Presidential Preference Primary in April. Make your voice heard!

Since we get an extra day for Black History Month this year, we're going to shout out the 29th Connecticut Colored Infantry Regiment, which served during the Civil War.

Tomorrow is March 1, and that also means it's the beginning of Women's History Month! Though it is impossible to highlight all of their accomplishments and contributions in 31 days, I will certainly highlight some of the women who are and have been special to me. I've included a couple more items. Enjoy!

I hope you have a great weekend,

Travis

CELEBRATING THE 29TH CT COLORED INFANTRY REGIMENT
During the Civil War, Connecticut made the state’s first Black regiment, the 29th Regiment Connecticut Volunteers. They fought bravely in the last year of the war. The regiment won many important battles and became one of the first Union regiments to march through the Confederate capital of Richmond. With its respectable service, the 29th Connecticut demonstrated the merits and justification for racial equality and freedom in Connecticut!
