House Democrats took action on Wednesday in passing legislation that limits when warehouse employers use production quotas.
The legislation also ensures that:
- Employers must provide quota information upon hiring an employee
- If quotas change, workers must be notified
- Employees cannot be retaliated against for requesting work records
- Quotas cannot be used to inhibit workers from using the restroom or taking an entitled break
Valuing people over profits is always good public policy.

House Democrats also voted Wednesday to make important changes to the Firefighters Cancer Relief Program, including among other things expanding the types of cancers covered to include skin cancer and authorizing workers’ compensation administrative law judges to handle appeals of any denial of benefits. |

The City of Norwalk and Norwalk Redevelopment Agency invite residents, business owners, and the entire Norwalk community to participate in a short survey designed to gather input on the possible creation of a Business Improvement District.
We’ve heard there may be interest in developing a business improvement district and are eager to hear from the people of Norwalk. By participating, residents and business owners play a vital role in shaping the future of Norwalk’s business environment.
The survey is available online in English, Spanish, and Haitian Creole, and respondents will be able to select their preferred language upon opening. The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes and will be open until June 5.
To reach a broad audience and gather diverse perspectives, community members are encouraged not only to complete the survey, but to also share it within their professional and social networks. The City and Redevelopment Agency thank the community for its continued engagement in these efforts.
Visit here to take the survey. |
