The 2024 legislative session is over. We had a lot of wins. We had some losses, including the comprehensive climate bill. We couldn't get that one over the finish line, but the fight on that one is not over.

We took a moment during session on Monday to recognize the Norwalk Firefighters and First Responders who sprang into action in response to the fiery crash under the Fairfield Avenue Bridge last week.

I trust this message finds you and your families in good health. Thursday brought an eventful day to Norwalk, with a significant fuel tank accident in South Norwalk. I am relieved to report that there were no serious injuries, and my primary concern remains the safety and well-being of all those affected by this incident.

I hope you're having a good week. We're moving right along as the 2024 session winds down. We have passed several bills in the House, including a big one that expands paid six days in the state.

Today, as we celebrate Earth Day, let's take a moment to reflect on the beauty and importance of our planet. Earth Day serves as a reminder of our responsibility to protect and preserve our environment for future generations.

We passed quite a few bills in the House this past week. We have a lot more to get done before session ends on May 8th and I will be sure to provide updates when I can.

Our priority bills will be the focus as we close things out on May 8th. In the meantime, I wanted to remind you that as tax day approaches, some lower-and middle-income earners are eligible for major savings.
