Memorial Day is a solemn day.

A beautiful tribute and ceremony last night for the opening of the Healing Field in honor of the victims of 9/11, armed forces members who have given their lives defending our country, all first responders, COVID heroes, and the servicemen and women who protect our country and keep us safe.

I was humbled again yesterday. I'm sharing why in the letter below. What an honor!

Unfortunately, because of the COVID-19 pandemic, parades and other public events have been canceled. However, there are still safe ways to honor those who gave their life for our country. Check out this Hartford Courant article for some ideas.

I'm a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy. I served in the Vietnam Era, two years on active duty, five years in the reserves. People I know also served with honor. People I knew died in service to our country.

On Friday December 6^th, State Representative Ron Napoli Jr. (D-Waterbury) joined members of the Waterbury delegation to honor several local veterans who were inducted into the Connecticut Veterans Hall of Fame this year.
