Dear Neighbor,

Every February, we celebrate and recognize the accomplishments and contributions Black people have made, right here in Connecticut and across the globe as part of Black History Month.

Throughout February, I hope to provide a daily insight, highlighting people, places, and things that are a part of Black History that you may or may not know about.

I picked one a little close to my heart today. As some of you know, I am a high school football official. What you may not know is that this fall will be my 10th season. I am the current president of the Eastern Connecticut Board of Approved Officials.

History was made in the NFL a little over years ago when an all-black crew took the field in Florida to work the L.A. Rams at Tampa Bay Buccaneers game on a Monday night.

Please click on the image below to learn more about the Black history that took place in Tampa Bay on November 23, 2020.
