Rep. Wood Sworn in to First Term

January 10, 2019

On Wednesday, January 9, 2019, I was sworn in to my first term as the State Representative for the 29th District, which is comprised of Newington, Rocky Hill, and Wethersfield.

The ceremony occurred in the House Chamber on Wednesday, January 9, 2019, which was also the day of the gubernatorial swearing-in ceremony.

I am humbled by the decision the voters made to elect me as their State Representative. During the next two years, I know we have to make tough decisions to address the budget, but I promise I will work hard for the district I serve and strive to continue moving our state in a positive direction.

I will also serve on several legislative committees, including the Commerce Committee, Finance, Revenue and Bonding Committee, and Veterans Committee.

I hope to use my business background to foster economic growth by investing in education and collaborating with in-state businesses, and attracting additional companies to the state. I currently run the Connecticut operations of a commercial real estate company that specializes in retail.

I am also committed to protecting open space, such as parks, farms, forests and beaches in Connecticut, investing in renewable energy like wind and solar, and oppose natural gas fracking waste and pipelines.

I have served as president of the CT Young Democrats and am a current member of the Rocky Hill Democratic Town Committee.
