Dear Neighbor,

I hope you're well.

I am sharing two upcoming opportunities to sit down, have coffee, and talk about the November 12th special session.

I will be at Dream Cafe in Rocky Hill this Friday. I will be at Heirloom Market in Wethersfield next Tuesday, Nov. 11th.

At these gatherings, I can update you on legislative matters in Hartford, and you can share your thoughts, concerns, and ideas, all of which will help me better represent you, the residents of the 29th District.

Please see the flyer below for more details.

I hope you can join me and the Ricky Hill Volunteer Ambulance Association for a Thanksgiving Food Drive on Thursday, November 13th. Please scroll down for more details.

Lastly, if you require assistance with your heating bill this winter, I've included information that may be of help to you.

I hope to see you soon. Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,

Kerry Wood
State Representative

I hope to see you at one of these outings or both!

Nov. 13: Thanksgiving Food Drive

Join us on Thursday, November 13, from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the OC Kitchen-Bar, 2399 Main Street in Rocky Hill, for a Thanksgiving Food Drive and help us fill an ambulance.

The Rocky Hill Volunteer Ambulance Association is joining forces with us as we gather food and supplies for the residents of the Senior & Disabled Housing.

There will be pizza for everyone who stops by with a donation!

This is a fun night, come out and join us!

Get Help With Your Heating Bill

During the fifth annual Heating Assistance Awareness Month this November, Wethersfield and Rocky Hill are partnering with Eversource to raise awareness of the programs available to help pay or lower heating bills, and keep homes warm this winter.

If you or someone you know is struggling to keep up with their energy bills, now is the time to get assistance this winter heating season.

There is a plan for everyone, including:

Connecticut Energy Assistance Program (CEAP):

  • Apply to get up to $645 towards your heating bill from CEAP. Apply for CEAP online at CT.gov/heatinghelp or through your local Community Action Agency (CAA). Find your local CAA at 211.ct.org or call 211.

Energy Efficiency:

  • Take advantage of Eversource’s energy efficiency programs, incentives, and tips to help you save money and reduce your overall energy use during the colder months. Renters need permission from their landlords to participate.

Winter Protection:

  • If you provide proof of qualifying household income or public assistance benefits you receive for at least one household member, your service cannot be shut off between November 1 and May 1.

To find the right options for you, click HERE to learn more about these programs. You can also find your local CAA for assistance at 211ct.org or call 211.
