Dear Neighbor,

Friendly reminder that we have our food and supplies drive tomorrow at OC Kitchen. Help us fill up an ambulance for our friends and neighbors at the Rocky Hill Housing Authority.

Additionally, there’s a DOT public forum tonight that is open to public comment, and Unite By Light is taking place at the Rocky Hill municipal campus this Friday.

There’s plenty of opportunity to attend and volunteer. Hope to see you soon.

Tonight: Virtual Public Information Meeting

The Connecticut Department of Transportation is hosting a virtual public meeting tonight, beginning at 6 p.m., regarding the rehabilitation of the bridges carrying Route 15/U.S. Route 5 over Route 99 and Route 15/U.S. Route 5 over Hartford Avenue, as well as the Providence & Worcester Railroad, in Wethersfield. 

This meeting aims to inform the community about the proposed project, gather feedback, and answer any questions. This meeting will take place on Zoom, and registration is required. You can register HERE.

A question-and-answer (Q&A) session will immediately follow the presentation, which will be recorded.

This project involves addressing the structural deficiencies of the bridges by improving their condition, thus extending the service life of the bridges, and providing safer travel conditions for all roadway users.

Right-of-way impacts are not anticipated. Construction is expected to start in the Spring of 2028, depending on funding, right-of-way acquisition, and permits. 
 
Food Drive @ OC Kitchen-Bar 

I hope you can join us tomorrow from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m., at the OC Kitchen-Bar, 2399 Main Street in Rocky Hill, for a Thanksgiving Food Drive and help us fill an ambulance.

The Rocky Hill Volunteer Ambulance Association is joining forces with us as we gather food and supplies for the residents of the Senior & Disabled Housing.

There will be pizza for everyone who stops by with a donation
 
Unite by Light 2025 is Friday

Social connection and unity come together for this luminary event that includes 550 candle-limit luminaries circling the block bordered by Old Main Street and Church Street, including the Congregational and Methodist churches, Rocky Hill Library, the Senior/Community Center, and the Police and Fire Departments.
