The legislative session has officially started! On Wednesday, I was in Hartford to commence this year's busy and productive process to make Connecticut's future the best it can be.

The Legislative session begins next week, on Wednesday, February 7th, and I am committed to keeping you informed and engaged in the democratic process.

This week, I had the privilege of attending End Hunger CT's press conference on providing free school meals for students, a legislative priority for my colleagues and I. Additionally, Vernon is receiving $1,000,000 for Grove Court Extension Renovations.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His leadership lead to the success of the civil rights movement. His actions played a pivotal role in achieving strides toward racial equality.

The Rockville Library staff played a pivotal role earlier to help our local police find someone who wandered from a group home. I always like to highlight our local heroes like these when I can!

As a result of fiscal responsibility and bipartisanship in 2023, I am pleased to announce that significant relief is on the way for many Connecticut taxpayers in 2024!

Connecticut is offering a wonderful new program that will make applying for higher education much easier - and less expensive - for graduating high school students. The Connecticut Automatic Admission Program allows students who meet certain criteria to be automatically admitted to several Connecticut colleges and universities by filling out a single application form, free of charge!

As we ring in the new year, there are some laws that become effective on January 1 that were passed during the 2023 legislative session addressing key issue areas including early voting, health and mental health, and online privacy and data protection.
