Increasing School Funding, and more
March 20, 2026Last week other New London and Groton leader and I met with DOT Officials to discuss the change in traffic patterns expected so construction can continue on the Gold Star Bridge! The Connecticut Department of Transportation has released two videos going in depth into why the construction is necessary, and want drivers can expect throughout the construction process.
Testify on Absentee Ballot Access!
March 11, 2026This Friday, March 13 at noon, the Government Administration and Elections Committee will have a public hearing on a bill that studies the ability to request an absentee ballot on the state website for Groton City and other Boroughs across the state.
Currently if you are seeking an absentee ballot in the City of Groton Election, you cannot apply for an absentee ballot online, unlike how you can in municipalities. This study seeks to come up with possible remedies. I firmly believe that all residents should have the ability to request online for an absentee ballot in elections, as it is one of the most convenient and accessible ways to vote.
Whether you agree or disagree, I would love for you to either testify on this bill or submit written testimony.

March 6, 2026March is Women’s History Month, a time to recognize and celebrate the remarkable contributions women have made to our communities, our state, and our nation. Here in Connecticut, countless women have shaped our history through leadership, innovation, advocacy, and perseverance.
While this month offers a special opportunity to reflect, their stories deserve to be honored all year long. From historic homes and museums to landmarks connected to groundbreaking achievements and social movements, our state is rich with places that preserve and share the legacy of women who helped shape Connecticut’s past and future.

Session, Fresh Food Funding, and more
February 20, 2026It was great to join my colleagues this week as we advocated for passage of a child tax credit bill that will be raised in the legislature this year.
The proposal calls for a fully refundable child tax credit of $600 per child, for up to three children, available to families earning up to $100,000 for single filers and $200,000 for joint filers. The measure would deliver meaningful, immediate relief to working families across Connecticut.
At a time of rising prices for all Americans, parents should never have to worry about putting food on the table or keeping their home warm, and this child tax credit is a great first step in providing that security.
Student Loan Forgiveness, and more
February 13, 2026It was great to join my fellow South Eastern Connecticut colleagues in the Legislature for a Meeting with the Mohegan Tribe leadership. It is vitally important for a partnership between the State and Mohegan Tribe so our communities can thrive. I look forward to future discussions on: Native American rights, Gaming, Job Creation and preserving the compact between the State and Tribe.

February 6, 2026The House came back into session this week, where we will meet for the next three months to pass legislation to better our state. It was wonderful to see my colleagues and begin the work on behalf of our communities.
It's easier than ever to follow along and get involved. There are several resources you can utilize that will help you stay updated on the legislative process as it unfolds in Hartford.
