Biography
State Representative Dan Gaiewski was born and raised in Groton Connecticut. Gaiewski is a graduate of Robert E. Fitch High School and Franklin and Marshall College, where he received a Bachelor's in Government and American Studies.
He was first appointed to the Groton Town Council in 2023, and elected to a full term later that year. He was elected to represent Connecticut’s 40th House District in 2025 during a Special Election to replace Christine Conley, who was appointed as a Judge of the CT Workers Compensation Commission.
Gaiewski is a member of the Appropriations, Banking, Commerce, and Veterans and Military Affairs Committees. As a member of the Appropriations Committee, he serves on the Conservation and Development, Higher Education, and Public Health Subcommittees.
Prior to serving in elected office, Gaiewski worked for Congressmen Joe Courtney and Lt. Governor Susan Bysiewicz. He also worked as an Aide in the Connecticut House Democratic Caucus for Reps. Jaime Foster of Ellington, Robert Godfrey of Danbury, and Kevin Ryan of Montville.
Gaiewski is an avid New York Sports fan, and can geek out on anything Major League Baseball. He enjoys running, paddle boarding, and the beach.
