I am thrilled to share exciting news about my commitment to promoting the health and well-being of our community’s families and children. In response to the vital need for improved childhood nutrition, we are working on crafting comprehensive legislation that ensures mothers and children who are eligible for federal benefits are enrolled in these programs with ease and confidence.

Today, we approved $17 million in additional cold weather heating assistance funds – many residents and families who receive assistance through the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) or Operation Fuel will have access to funds to ensure they can heat their homes through the cold weather season.

The legislative session has officially started. This is an exciting time as there are many priorities my colleagues and I have for this upcoming session. Some of the primary ones are listed below.

It was great to hear from everyone at the Bridgeport Delegation's legislative forum. It is an honor to represent you and I can only do this effectively if I know your needs, making events like these among the most important that I attend.

I will take part in a Legislative Forum alongside my colleagues who represent our great city of Bridgeport. This is an opportunity to raise your voice and for us as legislators to understand how and what you want us to fight for.

Let’s take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. His leadership led to the success of the civil rights movement. His actions played a pivotal role in achieving strides toward racial equality.

As a result of fiscal responsibility and bipartisanship in 2023, I am pleased to announce that significant relief is on the way for many Connecticut taxpayers in 2024!

As we prepare to ring in the new year, there are some laws that become effective on January 1 that were passed during the 2023 legislative session addressing key issue areas including early voting, health and mental health, and online privacy and data protection.
