Free Radon Test Kits Available for East Hartford Residents

December 14, 2021

The East Hartford Health Department has partnered with the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health to offer a limited supply of free radon test kits to East Hartford residents. Radon is a colorless, tasteless, odorless gas, which may be found in soil and water. It can leak into homes from the soil, usually through cracks or other openings in the foundation.

East Hartford Reinstates Mask Requirement

Effective Wednesday, December 8, 2021, the Town of East Hartford is reinstituting face mask requirements for all employees and visitors in all town facilities regardless of their vaccination status.

I am pleased to announce that Connecticut's landmark Paid Family and Medical Leave Program applications are now being accepted for Connecticut residents who want to participate in the state’s program. Claims are being accepted for qualifying events that are happening on or after January 1, 2022.

Access Health Small Business Update

November 30, 2021

From now until December 15, small businesses in Connecticut can obtain group health insurance regardless of the number of employees who enroll thanks to Access Health CT's Employee Participation Waiver Period. Any local small business with 50 employees or less that is not currently enrolled through Access Health CT Small Business can participate.
