Today is National Women’s Equality Day, commemorating the passage of the 19th Amendment which granted women the right to vote. Today we celebrate the great strides we have made, in Connecticut and throughout the country, and reflect on the continued fight for gender equality and women’s rights.
This week, more than $16 million in Elementary and Secondary School Emergency Relief II (ESSER II) funds was made available to 170 school districts across Connecticut. This relief money will allow schools throughout our state to provide special education services to more than 80,000 students during the upcoming school year.
Applications are now being accepted for Connecticut’s free community college program. The deadline for the upcoming school year is this Thursday, July 15.
While the 2021 legislative session faced unprecedented challenges and obstacles, I brought the concerns of our community to Hartford and advocated for legislation that will directly benefit West Hartford.
