When I served as chair of the Environment Committee, we passed legislation that would allow the state to enter an agreement with the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (U.S. NRC) to regulate radioactive material licenses.

Today, Connecticut became the U.S NRC's 40th “Agreement State,” giving the state oversight over the handling of radioactive materials used by more than 100 Connecticut businesses in the research, manufacturing, and healthcare fields.

It's been a long time coming, and we're finally seeing our hard work pay off. This week, the State of Connecticut officially conveyed the Ella T. Grasso property to the Town of Stratford.

Connecticut’s Town Aid Road (TAR) grant program is growing, rising from $60 million to $80 million in the new state budget.

Route 15 Northbound at Exit 36 in Stratford is the site of the second wrong-way driver detection system. The CTDOT will start installing it on Monday.

I wanted to share a brief update on the Rte. 113 sinkhole and the work that's currently underway.

Work is progressing on the Rte. 113 sinkhole on Burma Road. The estimated completion time for reopening the road is mid-October.
