This week we are celebrating the Fourth of July, a day to celebrate our great country, and also to reflect on how far we have to go to ensure our nation is a place where everyone has the opportunity to achieve their full potential. I hope you enjoy a beautiful, festive, and safe holiday with your family and friends.

Last Friday, I had the distinct privilege of attending the Safer Communities Summit, hosted by Senator Chris Murphy, to celebrate the one year anniversary of the signing of the Safer Communities Act, the first major piece of gun violence prevention legislation in nearly three decades. It was deeply powerful to hear from survivors and victims of gun violence including Nelba Márquez-Greene, Gabby Giffords, and several students who survived Parkland as well as community gun violence.

Happy Friday! It's been nice to catch up on some rest since our legislative session ended, but it's been lovely to be back in the 132nd District.

Happy Friday! It's hard to believe our legislative session ended Wednesday. After countless long nights, passionate debates, and bills passed, the House of Representatives adjourned for the last time this year. Though the session is over, my work is not. I'll still be traveling in our district meeting with constituents and planning for next year's session. Please reach out to me at any time, and I'll respond as soon as I can.

Today is the last day of our legislative session, and we will be working right up until midnight passing bills on behalf of the citizens of Connecticut. In the coming days, I will provide more information on some of the other bills we passed this week, but today I want to give you an overview of the budget we passed Monday night.

Happy Monday! We are now embarking on our 3 final days of the 2023 legislative session. We are expected to vote on the next biennium budget later tonight, which represents the bulk of the important work we do. Nonetheless, I also want to highlight a few upcoming events in Fairfield.
