The front page of today’s CT Post highlights not only the role of social media in antisemitism, but also the rise in real life incidents of antisemitism occurring in communities across Connecticut, including right here in Fairfield on October 13th.

Like many others, I did not learn of this event until last week when neighbors posted about it and local leaders spoke out to shine a light on graffiti that was racist, antisemitic, and anti LGBTQ. I am thankful to those who let know what had occurred right here in our own backyards. Awareness is important, especially in these difficult times.

As Co-Chair of the Public Health Committee, I have spent the last few months meeting with providers, hospitals and mental health agencies, as well as continuing to attend community events and meet with constituents. This eblast has information about some of these events and how you can take care of your own health and the public health of our communities.

Over the past weeks, there have been many headlines in our region, from election concerns to school redistricting and transmission lines. Today, I’d like to take some time to share information about an issue that impacts us every day – safety on our roadways.

Greetings on this rainy day, where you may be bracing for flooding, curled up with a book, still working, or looking forward to the weekend’s events. Whatever the case may be, I hope you stay safe out on the roads, remain as dry as possible, and reach out if you have any questions about either the items below or anything else on your mind.

School is underway and Labor Day seems like a distant memory. Don’t forget to be careful out on the roads with all the new bus routes, students walking and now people on scooters and electric bicycles.
