Early voting options are now available thanks to the work of the Connecticut General Assembly last session, and later this month, voters in the state will take to the polls to vote in the 2024 presidential primary.

Last month, I was fortunate enough to be chosen as one of 25 legislators from across the nation to participate in the National Conference of State Legislatures's Opioid Policy Fellows Program. This yearly program brings together legislators who are leaders on opioid addiction and overdose issues.

I hope you'll join me, State Representative Vincent Candelora, and State Senators Christine Cohen and Paul Cicarella this Wednesday, Feb. 28 at 6pm for a legislative town hall at the Durham Public Library (7 Maple Ave.) in the downstairs activity room. We will discuss the work we've been doing this legislative session, what to expect over the next few months, and most importantly, what your legislative priorities are for us. I hope to see you there!

February is Black History Month, a time when we celebrate the many achievements and contributions of individuals from the Black diaspora, as well as reckon with the systemic racism from our past that is still prevalent today. The theme for this year's month-long celebration is “African Americans and the Arts,” which spotlights Black Americans who excelled in various fields of creative expression, and the influence they have on our country's culture.

With the legislative session just around the corner on Wednesday, February 7th, I am committed to keeping you informed and engaged in the democratic process.

In order to accommodate a public hearing hosted by the town tomorrow evening and ensure as much access as possible for those interested in joining, we’re moving up the start time for the Madison Town Hall to 5:30 PM.

I hope you'll join me and State Senator Christine Cohen next Tuesday, Jan. 23 from 6-7pm for a legislative town hall at the Scranton Library's Lifelong Learning Room (801 Boston Post Road, Madison).
