Last week I was so proud of Waterbury’s celebration of the 2017 Dominican Republic Mayor for a Day, Karime Pimentel. We were joined by a delegation from the Santo Domingo Oeste Mayor’s office.

The legislature’s Transportation Committee held a public hearing this week on a proposal to repeal a law allowing the Department of Motor Vehicles to issue driver licenses for driving purposes only.

Running a small business is hard work. We must continue to give entrepreneurs the tools and resources they need to succeed. That is why this year, we have introduced two bills that will help small businesses:

Governor Dannel P. Malloy’s budget proposal increases funding to Connecticut cities – especially Waterbury. The proposal cuts $1.36 billion in spending and increases state funding to Waterbury by over $85 million over the two year budget.

The CT Legislature’s Black and Puerto Rican Caucus held a public forum at the Legislative Office Building to learn about the issues important to the communities we serve.

Waterbury’s recycling coordinator, CJ May, would like to host an informational forum on changes to the city’s recycling services in your neighborhood.
